The Taiwan Business and Human Rights Initiative provides information and research on business and human rights, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of responsible business practices for Taiwan and aligning with international standards.

The “Global Supply Chains and Human Rights Research Group,” led by Work Better Innovations and Professor Qiu Yufan of the College of Science and Technology Law at National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University, is collaborating on the Taiwan Business and Human Rights Initiative.The goal of this initiative is to produce precise, authoritative research on the topic of business and human rights and to educate young scholars, business leaders, and practitioners on the importance of responsible economic growth for Taiwan. Through this effort, the Taiwan initiative aims to build the capacity to assist Taiwanese businesses in conducting human rights and environmental due diligence.

The field of Business and Human Rights (BHR) in Taiwan is rapidly evolving, driven by the collective efforts of multiple stakeholders from civil society, labor unions and workers, the media, the private sector, and the government.This project stems from the hope that Taiwanese companies will implement the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and that Taiwan’s National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights will be revised and implemented to strengthen expectations for businesses and all stakeholders.
